District leaders and community service workers bring the joy of reading to Susan Lindgren

Director Sukhu recently visited Susan Lindgren Elementary as a guest reader, giving students a chance to connect with a member of the district’s administrative team while enjoying some great books.

Director Sukhu read A Series of Unfortunate Events with Ms. Ritter’s class and The Name Jar with Ms. Cowan’s class. The books offered students different experiences – from action and suspense to a heartwarming story about identity and belonging.

Joining in on the fun was also a member of the St. Louis Park Police Department, Officer Maurice Smith and a staff member of the City of St. Louis Park.

Guest readers are one way district staff and community members can spend more time in our schools and classrooms. More importantly, reading aloud helps build listening skills and fosters a love of learning. We’re grateful to our educators and staff who make reading a meaningful part of every student’s day!
